What is Legal Secretaries of Louisville?
LSL is a non-profit educational association for legal secretaries whose members value ethics, professionalism, and continuing legal education. LSL was formed in 1996 to support local legal secretaries, through education and networking, in a demanding profession where quality standards and client expectations are growing ever higher.

Who can belong?
Membership is open to anyone who is presently or formerly employed in the legal secretarial profession or who is interested in the legal secretarial profession.

When are the meetings?
Membership meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 11:30 a.m. Educational speakers are featured.

Where?
Jefferson Club, PNC Plaza, 29th floor, 500 W. Jefferson Street.

How much are the dues?
Dues are $25 per year.

What do you receive for your dues?

• Education (LSL conducts study groups for various certification programs offered on national and state levels)
• Networking with other legal secretaries.
• Respect from the profession.
• Lifelong friendships.

Activities:

• Co-sponsored educational seminars with the Louisville Bar Association.
• Assisted the Legal Aid Society and the Young Lawyers Club to sponsor will preparation clinics for the poor, elderly, and deaf.
• Involved with the Louisville Bar Association in many areas including Law Week and LegalFest.
• Collected can goods for Kentucky Harvest during the 1999 KBA Annual Convention.
• Worked with Habitat for Humanity and the Louisville Bar Association to build houses in 1998, 2000, and 2002.
• Held bake sales at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
• Sponsored CASA families at Christmas time.
• Sponsored cookouts for homeless individuals at the Cathedral of the Assumption.

We are an educational association for legal secretaries whose Members value ethics, professionalism, and continuing legal education. Our mission is to increase the competencies of legal secretaries so that they may better serve attorneys, courts, businesses, and governments. Our Members include legal secretaries of all levels of experience who support their professional association with their time, talent, spirit, and resources.
